When David and Tammy Meese from Lake of the Pines, CA, decided to design their dream outdoor living space, they turned to a decking solution that offered beauty, durability, and near effortless maintenance. Trex Transcend® Lineage™ combines unmatched quality and comfort that allowed the Meese Family to create a multi-level, waterfront oasis that they enjoy year-round.

After initially eyeing Trex Transcend in Tiki Torch for their new deck, the Meese family met with a local TrexPro® contractor, who wanted to show them a brand new product that he felt confident would complement their personal aesthetic and vision for the outdoor space.

“We thought we knew what we wanted. We were settled,” says David. “We loved this Tiki Torch color, and then, just as the foundation was going in, our TrexPro brought over samples of Biscayne from the new Trex Transcend Lineage line and we immediately thought, ‘This really works!’”

More than a year later, if you ask the Meeses for a Trex Transcend Lineage review, Tammy says, “Best decision we ever made! My favorite thing to do is sit and read in all the different spots around the deck – depending on where the sun is shining. We love cooking out here, eating out here. It’s an all-day, all-night deck. Around the firepit in the evening, it’s just perfect!”

Making An Investment in Enjoying Their Outdoor Space

For David and Tammy, installing their deck was about more than just immediate gratification. "We were building this for our enjoyment, yes – but also as an investment for many, many years. So, it was worthwhile," David notes. The long-term value of Trex Transcend Lineage Composite Decking is evident in its durability and low-maintenance requirements.

“There was a traditional redwood deck here when we moved into the house,” David explains. “I nursed that deck for many years, every three years resurfacing it, doing the repairs as needed. But over that time, I was also getting a better idea of what I really wanted. We were able to narrow the material down to Trex pretty quickly.”

Unlike wood, Trex decking doesn't rot or splinter. It resists stains, scratches, and mold, thanks to its high-traffic formulation and ultra-durable integrated shell. "Maintenance on this Trex deck is so easy. Literally, it’s a damp mop,” says Tammy, highlighting the hassle-free upkeep. David agrees, “I would put a lot of effort into cleaning the old redwood deck and, after a day, it was dirty again. With this (Trex) material, you just wipe it clean, and it feels clean for a long time. Trex versus wood is an absolute no-brainer. Been there, and not going to do that again!”

And no Trex Transcend Lineage review should go without mentioning its 50-year Limited Residential and Fade & Stain warranties. This level of assurance means that homeowners like David and Tammy can trust that their investment will stand the test of time.

“Trex’s 50-year warranty really tells me they’re serious about their product,” David says. “I was able to move forward knowing there’s no doubt about whether or not the deck will survive. It’ll certainly outlive me! There’s no question that Trex is going to stand behind their product.”

Trex’s Coolest Decking to Withstand Triple-Digit Summers

Living in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California, temperatures regularly surpass 100 degrees – and can still soar into the 80s in October. Finding a decking material that stays cool underfoot was crucial for the Meeses, who love being outside as much as possible.

“Biscayne is just a beautiful neutral color, and it’s so cool and so comfortable to be on,” says Tammy. "We knew that the Trex material was going to be a little cooler, but we were shocked by how much cooler it is than our old redwood deck," David adds.

Trex heat-resistant decking *ensures that the Meese family can maximize time spent outdoors. “We love to have people over. We love to entertain, and to host people outside,” Tammy comments. “Now it’s just more comfortable to walk around, and it’s so beautiful to sit out here and look at this gorgeous deck.”

“We have a lot of people who visit us by way of boat. They pull up to the dock, and say, ‘Oh, I heard that material’s hot,’” explains David. “Then, they step right on it, and say, ‘It’s not hot at all!’"

Transcend Lineage is specially-engineered to keep your deck cooler, even on the hottest of days. This impressive Trex heat resistance is due to an innovative technology in the shell of the boards that keeps them significantly cooler than traditional decking materials, mitigating heat, and reflecting the sun.

Tranquil Tones that Complement All Trex Railings

Trex Transcend Lineage features subtle graining that delivers an unmatched natural appearance. Available in five hues inspired by picturesque locales, there's a color for every taste.

The colors of the Trex Lineage palette are neutral and clean, creating an ideal palette to mix and match with any Trex deck railings. From composite to aluminum options, there is a deck railing system that will perfectly frame up the view from your outdoor living space.

“We really wanted an outdoor living space that would flow and be open,” says Tammy. “On our old deck, I’d have to sit on a pillow to see over the bulky wood railings to the water beyond!”

Guided by their TrexPro contractor, the Meeses were able to design and build a Trex haven that incorporates high-style elements, including curved deck boards to make the most of their amazing vistas.

“Once we learned that Trex could be curved, it was just a no-brainer,” exclaims David. “We thought, ‘This is going to be awesome!’ And it turned out to be more than we could even imagine.”

For homeowners considering an investment in their outdoor living space, Trex Transcend Lineage offers unparalleled benefits that make it a smart choice for the long haul.

“My advice would be to consider Trex first and foremost,” says Tammy. “You’re going to have less maintenance, a higher warranty, and long-lasting beauty. And then, make sure you go with a TrexPro, who knows how to work with the product.”

*Although Trex decking products with heat-mitigating technology are designed to be cooler than most other composite decking products of a similar color, on a hot sunny day, it will get hot. On hot days, care should be taken to avoid extended contact between exposed skin and the deck surface, especially with young children and those with special needs.
